Dr. Andrew Pearle specializes in sports and arthritic conditions of the knee. He is pioneering the use of robotics and computer navigation for partial and complete knee replacement. His innovative techniques were recently featured on NBC Nightly News as well as Fox Good Morning New York. Dr. Pearle has performed more robotic knee surgeries than anyone in the greater New York area.
As a fellowship trained sports medicine surgeon, Dr. Pearle has a special interest in advancing the care of athletic knee injuries. For example, Dr. Pearle often performs the double bundle ACL reconstruction technique. While technically demanding, this procedure may result in a more stable, functional knee after ACL surgery compared with traditional approaches. Dr. Pearle has published a dozen articles on ACL related topics in the past 2 years alone.
Dr. Pearle feels strongly that patient education is essential for optimal outcome. Please find below a listing of multimedia video animations for common knee procedures performed by Dr. Pearle. If considering surgery, please view the animation and read the section on frequently asked questions (click on the FAQ button in the animation). Importantly, please read the section on the risks related to the proposed procedure (click on the link to risks under the Doctor's Personal note in the last step of the procedure).
